HONOR OUR 13

On August 26, 2021, there was a terrorist attack at the airport in Afghanistan, where U.S. Service members were standing guard risking their lives to help Americans, Afghans, and allies escape death and find freedom.  There were 13 U.S. Service members who were killed and 15 were wounded in the attack.  It was reported that 60 innocent Afghans were killed as well in this senseless act of horror.  This act of evil does not stop us from continuing with our mission to evacuate Americans, Afghans, and allies who helped us during the 20 long years of U.S. troops’ presence in Afghanistan.  The U.S. Service members we lost were our heroes.  They were the backbone of America, the best our country has to offer.  They were relentless, brave, and always demonstrated selfless service.  We mourn for them and for their loved ones.  Our thoughts are also with the wounded Service members who are just beginning their roads to recovery.  Our hearts also go out to the Afghan civilians who were killed, and to their family.  We can’t ever fully thank our fallen heroes or their loved ones for what they have done for the United States of America.  But what we can do is to continue to uphold the freedoms they died to defend and to always remember what they sacrificed for us.  Please pray for our fallen heroes, and for our U.S. Service members who continue to put their lives on the line right now to continue with their mission.  May God bring them back safely to their families and friends, to us, so all together we will praise Thy name.  Amen.
